Is the city where you live known for anything special? A historical event, a certain industry, etc.

Is it a good thing for the area, neutral, or does it cause any issues?

Not a good thing. It obviously caused issues during the time it happened, and I don't know how people feel about it now. The old Louisiana State Capital where Huey Long was assassinated. They still have the bullet holes which you can see on a tour.

Where I live all the cities kind of blend together. I could be in 3 different cities just running errands or going shopping. I suppose we're known for crime, homelessness and over-priced housing. Lol

Cool-looking building; looks somewhat like a Disneyland castle. :)

I don't know yet.. since we just got here a year ago, and then proceeded to spend all year back and forth between here and Brooklyn schlepping our stuff up over the course of 9 months.. and so, we haven't really had the chance to go out and explore and do anything social or fun, for that matter..

We've basically been hunkered down in the house for that reason aside from going for necessities and when we went to Miami and were on a cruise..

But since we are about 90% done with the upper part of this house, and about 75% in total, we will be much freer to do that once the upper part of this house is complete.

That said, I will say that based on what I have seen thus far, people up here LOVE ICE CREAM and something called Chicken Riggies and Utica Greens.. I have yet to try these dishes and there are so many ice cream shops up here that you'd think this city was founded by Carvel or Baskin Robbins..

I mean it is crazy.. but luckily for me, I love ice cream and am no longer lactose intolerant so it is all good.
