Unfortunately, most actors aren't wealthy; a good number of live do indeed live, in part, on the residuals from each and every work.
...and those are going away (residuals).
As long as there are movies and TV shows (and radio shows as well), there will always be residuals because most SAG-AFTRA members do not make their money straight-up via. contracts w/movie/TV/other studios. Like I said earlier, a good number of them work other jobs because the residuals aren't large enough to sustain them financially.
