Have you ever been on one? A friend of mine really wants to set me up with a guy. I haven’t dated in a long time and I’m not sure if I should meet him. Advice?

I've never been on a traditional one myself.

I suppose when you meet people from the apps or an online personal-ad that is a blind date too. Only difference is you set up the blind date yourself instead one of your friends/relatives doing it.

Anyway, I'd say go for it. If you don't vibe with the guy then don't have a 2nd date. No harm done.

I've only been on one date my entire life and it wasn't a blind date. I asked the girl to go out with me.

I wouldn't really care for blind dates much, since you know nothing whatsoever of the person. I prefer to get to know a person organically and go from there.

I experienced going on a blind date once, way back in high school, during Valentine's Day. and I think you should give it a go; there's nothing wrong with trying. Who knows? He's the one meant for you.

Personally I never go on blind dates or any dates actually I don't like being set up at all...but I guess they work for some people but why not see at least a picture first I mean wouldn't that be more efficient? Then if you like the picture start by calling each other on the phone etc...

I might just get him to call and see if we like each other first I’m more comfortable with that than an actual blind date

I've been on a few blind dates that my friends and family set up for me when I was in my early 20's. None of those dates every worked out for me.

Yeah I think at minimum you have to see other first by pictures or in person or at least talk on the phone etc have a connection started already before meeting for first time...

When I walked in to see these girls at the restaurant on the blind date, my heart sank and disappointment soured my stomach. I have gotten way better results from using Tinder.

At least with Tinder they post pictures even if they touched up ones haha...

Many, moons ago, back when I was 19, I went on a blind date. It was interesting. We had fun. But then the next day, my date decided that they didn't want to continue dating me anymore. I was heartbroken! That's okay. A better partner walked into my life about two years ago. :)
