Hey guys,

I've been working on some mockups for a phpBB style lately, and I'm going to move over to the coding bit in the next few weeks. What are your guys' opinions on the design?

The design is clean but very generic. The logo could use some work, and your text sizing needs work. The colour scheme is good but very corporate.

Thanks for the feedback!

Generic + corporate is what I'm going for. phpBB lacks a good generic general-purpose style that belongs in this decade, so I'm trying to fill that void.

The logo is a text-logo, so it changes automatically based on the forum's name. Since it is pure HTML+CSS rather than a still image my hands are a bit tied as to how pretty I can make it.

Which parts do you have in mind regarding text sizing?

Mainly on the thread view where the users posts and join date is that text looks very out of place.

Good point! I agree, I'll have to figure out how to restructure it. phpBB is quite annoying, showing dates as the full "Sat Feb 27, 2021", so I'll have to figure out how to make it pretty despite all that text.

Don’t get me wrong it looks great! You’re a hell of a lot better than me at web design that’s for sure!

Something I once learnt: When I create something, I never want to hear the good only the bad, as that is the only way I will improve as a designer!

You always get a reality check when turning design into code

I love it, the postbit area looks kinda out of it though, it looks minimalistic but then at the right you see the join date bigger than everything, i'm not a graphic designer but if you do it like MyBB does it:

could look better imo.. everything else looks super cool.

phpBB really lacks some good looking themes so this is great @Zap. I'm sure it will be a very popular theme when you release it!
