Forum landing pages

What do you guys think about landing pages for forums?

Personally, I think it fits some forums like gaming or technology forums, and less so for general discussion forums like DH

I personally think it can be nice to not immediately open to a forum. Plus depending on whats on it, coukd even be beneficial, like articles.

Agree on that. If it's well done, it can be a really nice opening to your forum but I guess it's only possible on some forums where you can have a variety of content to promote on the homepage, like articles, videos etc.

It kinda depends as a simple page that juT explains what the site is about and links to different items would be fairly universalI think.

The old RIF has articles on various topics which I have never seen anywhere else. Discussion Hub io is unique too. Forum Coin does not beat about the bush but straight away takes you to the login page.

I as a user would prefer how the Forum Coin page opens.
