Good evening/early morning,
As the clock has now passed midnight here in my neck of the woods, I wanted to bring everyone's attention to a new holiday of sorts that awesome folks like @KO896 and @PGen98 are looking to establish over at Forum Promotion. This holiday is what they are calling Global Forum Day, which will occur every April 7th, from now until we're all old and grey... And hey, maybe we can gain some traction and keep it going after that? If you're a member here, you know there's a lot of history here. @Nebulous created Wober way back in 2009, so that was literally sixteen years ago. That's a long time, and the foruming world has dramatically changed in that time span.
If you were on Wober, just think about back then. Who all did you meet back then? Who is still around from then? What dynamics in our world has changed since then? What has changed with forums? We've seen the rise of Reddit and Facebook Groups really reduce our numbers, so we feel it's important to try and bring attention to this holiday for the greater good. We are all here because we love and appreciate forum(s). I'm sure OT isn't the only one you're on, and how upset would you be if certain forum(s) disappeared overnight? Regardless of what forum it may be, today is the day to recognize the importance of forum(s) in your life.
So guys. happy Global Forum Day, and thank you for acknowledging the threads that bind us.
All the best,
Cam
