One thing I always remember when I was a child is how much I used to dislike both cheese and mushrooms. They were two foods I would hate to eat when I was younger and no matter how much my family tried to get me to eat them, I would avoid them. Fast forward to now and me being an adult and I can eat cheese and mushrooms with no problem at all.

I used to not care for pot roast much as a kid, but grew to enjoy it. Same thing with lasagna too! I decided to try it one day after much consideration. It's one food I thought looked kind of bleh but tried it and adored it.

I'd also even maybe say beans too. I now don't mind beans in chili, burritos, etc.

So so many, I don't even think I could begin to write a whole list. Definitely eggs, I don't know why I didn't like them they're so good. Also baked beans, I just love feeling like beans on toast (with cheese!). Pretty much most fruit and vegetables too.

I used to not baked beans either. I tried it as an adult, and it was not too bad.

I was extremely an picky eater as a kid and refused to try certain things. As such, I never tried chili until I was in my early 20s, I think. Now I'm a chili slut, I LOVE, LOVE AND LOVE chili.

growing up, you couldn't just not eat what was made for a meal. and could NEVER say you "hated" something if you hadn't even tasted it.

wasn't a fan of shrimp no matter how prepared, but Dad liked it. didn't like steak that was still pink inside, but Dad knew that's how it should be. if I had been able to just not eat those 2 things, would have missed out on a lot of good food.

have REALLY tried to like a few foods, with no luck. liver... NOPE... though I do like a nice pate or bacon-wrapped chicken livers. can't seem to like oysters... fried, broiled, in oyster stew or even raw. don't even like the broth from oyster stew. would love to like sardines in mustard, but that ain't happening.

Custard was that food for me. I never liked it as a kid and growing up too. My mom had to switch to pap throughout my childhood.

Now, I drink custard like my life depends on it. Even without any sweetener, I'll drink it.

I disliked Chinese food when I was little. But started eating it in my early teenage years and fell in love with it. Been eating it ever since.

thinking your dislike of mushrooms as a child might have been that you only had canned?? fresh mushrooms are a whole nuther fungus.

I think that's the very reason for my absolute disgust as a child for asparagus. I was only exposed to canned asparagus...the thought of it even now is just disgusting.
But then came the 'day of enlightenment' when I tasted raw & very slightly cooked asparagus...WOW, how tasty! :D
