Scenario

A seven year old child is hitting you repetitively with a stick. You ask the child to stop, the child laughs, and the parent does nothing to stop it.

What is the best way to respond to this situation?

Take the stick from the little brat, snap it in half and throw it away. Then give the parent a piece of your mind. Loudly.
That's what I'd do, anyway.

I was thinkin the same thing :)

What smooth did. In fact I would not let it get to the "repeatedly" point, I'd do that after the first time he brat tried to hit me.

Punt him onto the roof of a nearby building and leave him there.

As if... :P
We'll come visit you in jail.

I'd go after the parents. After I called the police to take care of the child. You'd be in a lot of trouble if you touched a child.

I have been tring to fix a mistake in a previous post and it won't let me, SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would honestly just start laughing and tell the mother how she is doing a fine job being a parent in a sarcastic tone. I would then convince the little kid to smack his mother instead. :')

Odd, I just checked in the ACP and it said that your usergroup can edit / delete their own posts.
