Im regards to Cuba, of course there are benefits to slavery. Certain social problems (like literacy or basic health care) can be eliminated via dictatorship, but only at terrible cost to human freedom.
But the issue of poverty in the third world is a complex issue. What does anyone feel can solve the problem without resorting to Communism?
