Advertisement Space:Where To Put It?

Hello,

The most well known way to earn revenue from your site is advertisement space. You let people advertise on part of your site. The thing is to much your visitors will turn away. To little your not going to be able to cover bills. Another thing that adds to the problems is where to put your advertisement space. Well here is a guide to where to put your advertisement.

Okay first thing is if you want image advertisements then I suggest square non animated advertisements on the right hand sidebar as it can get in the way if it is on the left hand side. With a hover over with a short paragraph about the site. So that is one place to put advertisements.

Right unless you want to dedicate your footer to just advertisements then don't put any their unless your thinking of a small banner above the text links because your footer acts as a second navigation bar and the text links there are where it navigates so if you add advertisements to the them it looks really messy.

Also don't ever add header advertisements as it will look horrible. Unless you have a forum and then you can use the announcements block under the banner and navigation bar. But really that isn't a header advertisement. So yeah no advertisements on headers they look really annoying.

If you have a forum then in under the first post of the topic have another post made by a bot or just a block under it with some text links with possibly a little bit of information under it. I think PhpBB has a modification for this. You will have to check on that one.

Thanks.

If a forum ever did this, I would be out of there so fast it would make your head spin! I just stopped posting on a forum that has ads blocking half the page unless you pay to become a member. Needless, to say that is a HUGE turn off to non-paying members. I could tell you the best place to stick your ads, but that wouldn't be very ladylike of me to do so.
