Allowing members to do giveaways

Do you allow members to do giveaways on your forum? How do you handle it if you do allow them to do it? I'd worry that the member could scam or do something to screw the winner over.

If somebody came to you and wished to do it, would you allow it? If not, why? As I said I get concerned about the user scamming the winner or something else happening.

I've seen some forums/sites allow this, but put a disclaimer that they are not responsible for what happens etc.

I think it really just depends of the member themselves. If you know the person and they are solid then sure, let them do it. But if you don't know them or don't trust them, then you shouldn't let them.

We allow it here in the Financial Forum and we have a stickied/pinned guidelines thread stating that "We DO NOT take responsibility for people not fulfilling their part of the deal."
