Anally Retentive Staff

The term anal retentive (also anally retentive), commonly abbreviated to anal, is used conversationally to describe a person with such attention to minor detail that the obsession becomes an annoyance to others, and can be carried out to the detriment of the anal-retentive person.

Have you ever been on a forum with admins/staff like this? How do you feel about them?

Yeah some admins get anal with avatars and signatures. Like you must have a 80x80 avatar. No bigger and no smaller. You can only have one signature image and it must be 500x80 or some weird number. You can only have one link in then a long list of things you cant link to.



Or..... admins who add a new rule to the rules list everytime something gets on their nerves.

Yeah, they were the anally retentive admins.

Then there is those staff who will issue warnings right off the bat no pm reminders or nothing. Ive even seen a staff member add a rule to the list AFTER something happened and still issue a warning to someone breaking a rule. How can you give a warning to someone for something they did yesterday and the rule was just added 5 minutes ago?

Thats truly an anal staff member.



Ive also seen people twist their own personal definitions/perception of rules around so they can use they can be anally retentive to the extreme.
