Nopes. I found a pic of a dragon and thought that'll do
I made mine from a snoopy Wingdings font.

I think an avatar should just be something the post author likes.
I have random avatars all the time. They could be something I found after browsing for hours on avatar sites or they could be something I found by doing a google image search (then shurnk it down to size). I dont put much thought into avatars, just whatever pops out at me.

Sometimes. I usually use something that strikes my fancy, and even adjust my user title to somehow match the avatar, but I've also been known to use something random and unrelated to anything.
