So I told my friend 2 weeks ago that my landlady is holding a Ceilidh tonight as it is her 70th, I have a +1 invitation and wanted my best friend to come, she made sure that work didn't need her in and has been telling me for the past week that she is coming, She doesn't like to dance but neither do I.

She's been asking me all week that she doesn't have to dance and i've been reassuring her all week that she won't have to if she doesn't want. (We both have bad backs I might add so I can't dance much even if I wanted to have a little jig)

Anyway I said we can listen to the music, watch them dance, have a hog roast and a drink, and then head back home (my mum's place as I have to look after my stepdad tonight, my best friend lives the other end of the road)

Due to leave at 6pm, I get a text at 3pm saying "Ceilidh's are all about dancing arent they? Not really my kind of thing"

WHAT THE F***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????????????????????????????

HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I BEEN OVER THIS ALL OF THIS PAST WEEK?!!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I text her back saying, it's not normally my thing either, you don't have to dance if you don't want, but there is music, food, drink, a good craic (laugh) however I'm not forcing you to go if you don't want to.

No reply!

Doing my head in, I have 2 best friends and both ALWAYS let me down at the last minute.
So now I have to go tonight and tell my landlady, I split up with my boyfriend (although that was ages ago, I didn't tell them) my best friend won't come and my mum isn't coming because my best friend said she was!!!!

I swear I should become a loner. Far more easier!

Then why do you keep inviting them only to get upset when they cancel at the last minute? If I were you, I would never invite them to go anywhere. Is it too late to ask your mum to come with you?

She was really up for it when I told her about it the first time. We've been friends for so long now, Me and Laura see each other every other day now as she comes walking with me, Our friendship has really grown over the last year, we are more like sisters.

My mum has gone out in the van now for the evening.

Doesn't matter, I'll go on my own.

And another thing, she always moans about never getting the opportunity to go out and meet new people other than people at work. but then turns down a good opportunity tonight. Anyway, after the holiday I'm not going to keep inviting them places, sod it, if they want to go places they can go on they're own and meet me there.

Doesn't sound like a very 'sisterly' thing she did by canceling on you. Has she replied back or is she ignoring your last text?

Just got a reply, changed her mind again and is coming.

However! Just got a text off my other friend and she has pulled out of racing in August, stating "been going off BTCC for a while" Well 1. why say you wanted to go in the first place and 2. We only talked about it Thursday and you said you were really up for it!!!!

What the hell is wrong with people?!?!

Good job we didn't get tickets yet!

Sorry but people like this would drive me crazy! :banghead:

Long drive - 9 hours up to the circuit, will now be split between 3 of us.
But means more room in the car now for extra camping gear and more room in the tent :D

Now that's the spirit! :highfive:

What's a ceildih? Also, I love going to dances and stuff like that, especially if they're playing good music.

Shame my friend wouldn't even go up to the clubroom to watch. The band didn't seem to play for very long before we have to leave. Think they must have played from 10pm till late.

Wouldn't have been able to jump around like that anyway with my back.
