This topic is just for fun....

What would be the best way for a forum to lose all their members quickly?

Uhmmm... Not posting new content and then banning everyone from posting new content. Then banning people for fun. Then a few power hungry mods. Lots of spam bots posting around the forum. An admin that doesn't do any thing and leaves everything for the mods to do, which makes everything go even more tits up.

Creative enough?

Place every member (except staff) on indefinate moderator queue. Then disapprove every post.

Have staff flame users, then delete any rebuttal or retaliation.

Hey Doc, that sounds familiar to me for some reason.

Change the focus of your forum with no warning. That's bound to tick off a few members to the point where they quit going to the forum.

Closing down the forum abruptly than deciding that you suddenly have time for it once again making you choose to bring it back, then eventually closing it again leaving for the cycle to continue, that's how I did it. Which is why I run a less tedious website based forum which merely holds my reviews and concepts, if I don't have time for it for periods of time than it's not really a big deal, I assume I'll be ready to start running a forum full time in the future.

I just quit a forum today. All I asked was where to find the staff list. I asked because no members have a status rank. I got a PM from some member (not sure if it staff member or not) that they do not disclose that information. What the heck??? I figured if they won't disclose that what else won't they disclose. Why on earth would you not want members to know who is staff and who isn't?

Telling the members to Go away, I don't like you no more! or saying, Ahhh...I'm a MONSTER go away!
