Biden

I would almost believe that Hillary wouldn't want the job.

Once there were two brothers. One ran away to sea; the other was elected vice president of the United States. And nothing was heard of either of them again.

Thomas Marshall (1854 - 1925)

(VP to Wilson)

America’s first black governor in modern times has become the most senior Democrat to break ranks over Nebulous Biden’s ‘y’all in chains’ comments, telling the Vice President: 'Slavery is nothing to joke about.'

Douglas Wilder, who was governor of Virginia from 1990 to 1994 and the first black governor since Reconstruction, told CNN that 'without question' Biden’s remarks in Danville, Virginia (though the veep seemed to think he was in North Carolina) 'were appeals to race'.

He continued: 'The important thing I got out of this was Biden separated himself from what he accused the people of doing. As a matter of fact, what he said is they are going to do something to y’all, not to me. Not us. So he was still involved with that separate American.

'As far as I am concerned, the President would not associate himself with those remarks. And I expect as the days go forward there will be more clarity associated with what the president feels about what Nebulous Biden said.

Ryan can beat Biden in debate and Obama for that matter as well. The pick of Ryan may well have been a tactic.

Are you kidding me? Ryan is a complete idiot and a total hypocrite. He would get destroyed in any kind of a debate. He is the most radical vice presidential nominee in 100 years

His budget is a complete fantasy, promising dramatic cuts with no real specifics on how they would at all be possible.

He claims to be fiscally responsible and yet he directly voted for almost every government action that lead to our debt. Around 40% of our debt is due to lost revenues from taxes during the recession. The remaining 60% Ryan voted for almost unanimously. He voted for the Bush tax cuts. He voted for the war in Afghanistan. He voted for the war in Iraq. He voted for the unpaid for Medicare Part D drug program. He voted to create the department of homeland security and to increase defense spending. And he voted for the TARP bailouts.

He's a total hypocrite and a complete joke. Him being the vice presidential candidate is the best thing that could have ever happened for the democrats.

---

On that note, there's not a chance in hell that Obama is going to switch VP. He's already got the election in the bag, and there's no need to potentially spoil his current momentum.

Your Bush tax cuts statements are false, the Bush tax cuts would have run out long ago if not extended by Obama not once but twice.

Yeah, but he didn't want to extend them for the rich. They are and will forever be the Bush tax cuts.

Obviously he extended them, he not going to significantly raise taxes on all of America during a recession.
So did Obama, so your point is what?
Obama did not vote for the war in Iraq. Obama did not vote for medicare part D. Not sure about the Bush tax cuts.
Yeah he did and Obama passed NDAA and CISPA. Take a shot a which does more to destroy my personal rights?
Homeland security. First of all CISPA is not in effect anymore, the trade agreement fell through when the European Union that you guys all hate so much rejected it. Obama didn't pass NDAA. He signed the damn thing, it passed the house and senate with overwhelming support, it was a routine bill that got some nasty shit snuck into it. It's in the process of being worked out by the judiciary, with several rulings of the indefinite detention aspect as unconstitutional. For now Obama's signing statement stands, meaning that he won't exercise any of the powers of indefinite detention.

And if they do try anything, remember, 5 bombs on 5 of their cities, trillions (only joking) of Chinese gone...
And you're now in a state of war you cannot afford. Nuking five Chinese cities just because you can't pay sounds like a good cause for WW3.

Better get an old fashioned stove.

Our debt really isn't that out of control yet. We have plenty of time to fix this mess. Japan's debt is twice what ours is as % of GDP.

even all the countries in the world can't take the USA now
Heh.

Russia has more nukes, North Korea, South Korea, Vietnam, India, China and Iran have more soldiers...

Of course actually using nuclear weapons would destroy all sides...

[background=rgb(250, 246, 237)]And yet we still have enough to destroy the entire earth three times over.[/background]

Who gives a damn? China isn't going to do anything to us.

Their economy depends on us.

True, but they're going to have to find someone else at this rate...

I shudder to see even the mentioning of the idea that any level of Nuclear War involving an exchange of weapons would be winnable.
It's perfectly winnable, all you have to do is move to another planet.

Your repeating the line as you have been told just like you have been told this is the Bush war

What if I could show you another reason for the war that has more logic and reason?

Your condescension is amusing to say the least.

If...

- Obama loses 2012 election, Biden retires from politics to spend time with family.

- Obama wins 2012 election, Biden might consider stepping down midway through second term.

- Obama wins 2012 election and term ends, Biden will likely retire.

According to United States government rules, if vice president dies or steps down, the Speaker of the House takes over as Vice President. That SotH is Boehner.

Ahh, not exactly.

The Speaker is in the line of succession if the President were unable to continue to occupy the office and the Veep is similarly indisposed.

When Mr. Agnew resigned as VP, President Nixon nominated Mr. Ford who was then confirmed by the Senate, assumed the office, and when Nixon left town, he became President Ford.
