While national news media continue to focus on race in Ferguson, Missouri, where a white police officer shot and killed an unarmed black teenager, they apparently don’t think a similar case in Utah with the races reversed is that newsworthy.

Police in Salt Lake City are continuing their probe into an Aug. 11 shooting outside a 7-Eleven convenience store, when a black police officer, whom local media are referring to as “not white,” shot and killed 20-year-old Dillon Taylor, who was unarmed at the time, according to his supporters.

Police Chief Chris Burbank said the entire incident was captured on the body camera of the officer who shot Taylor.

“You will see on camera … the actions of everyone involved, including up to the point where our officer utilizes deadly force and his response thereafter,” Burbank told reporters.

He said the video, along with the officer’s identity, will be released at the “appropriate” time, adding it could be days, weeks or months.

I've seen that exact same pie chart used in 3 other discussions here on Off Topix. It means absolutely nothing here, just as it meant absolutely nothing in the other discussions. That dumb thing could have been made up by anyone, with any agenda, changed and edited to suit any argument. It is, therefore, utterly meaningless.

that too is different. this is spontaneous reaction demonstrations and rioting. occupy actions were planned out in advance. the indie reporting i'm seeing is occupy style and that's all flash mob kind of stuff over the social networks. no telling what jackson and sharpton put into the street with the occupy people who are coming out in support. it's not occupy organizing the demos. there is a group that is in the middle of it and i forgot the name. i even forgot where i saw the video about the raid on the church they were using for sanctuary. sorry. old timers disease.

they've injured a lot of innocent people with tear gas and rubber bullets. among the people arrested are a 90 year old holocaust survivor, award winning french journalist and a st louis alderman. t hen there is the officer go fuck yourself video riding high over all of that.

As bad as our current president has made things economically and racially todays blacks have far more freedom and opportunities then they did in the 60s. If they are crammed in ghettos it is from there own making.

And todays streets are far more dangerous better armed and more violent with people ready to kill. So you have very nervous cops with deadly rioters trying there hardest to make the streets run with blood while buildings burn. People are going to get hurt and arrested among those kinds of crowds innocent included.
