Our tablets and smartphones are mini-computers that contain more computing power than astronauts took to the moon in 1969. But if we want to keep on increasing the amount of computing power we carry around in our pockets, how are we going to do it? There are only so many components you can cram on to a computer chip. Has the limit been reached, or is there another way to make a computer? Scientists are considering new materials, such as atomically thin carbon – graphene – as well as new systems, such as quantum computing.

Thoughts?

I doubt the limit has been reached for how fast our devices can get. They'll figure out a way to make these things faster.

Meh. I say keep them slow. The faster they get, the more work I'll have to do for the same money. :p

Slow enough for me. :p

Speed is relative anyway. What is slow for someone can be fast for someone else and vice versa.

Good for you, but I still don't understand what's your point. :confused2:

I have no idea how you got that from my words. I simply said that I'm okay with computers being slow, and added that two people could perceive speed differently, each from their own viewpoint. My "dinosaur" is fast enough for me, for my needs. Not sure how you managed to misinterpret that.

Don’t get your feathers ruffled

Yes, I believe computers will always be improved and new designs and new technology is always becoming available.
