They just laid off 100 people from a store here where I live. They used these people for the busy holiday season. Now that they have slowed down, these poor people are out of work. The store should have been upfront telling them it was only for the holiday rush but they weren't. That really makes me angry!

That's not on! At least we knew our contracts were only 13 week ones.. We all know that its the stores discussion who to keep and who not to. When we applied, we knew our contracts were only 13 week ones and that after 13 weeks, if they didn't need some of us later on, then we'd be let go. However, if they do, they will sign you up on a new contract.

I think its a 12 month one, but don't quote me on that, I'm not 100% sure..

I'm sitting here watching the snow storm outside. The snow is not what's concerning me right now. The wind is starting to kick up and there are a lot of dead trees near the power lines across the street. I am hoping none of those dead trees fall onto the power lines. If that happens, I will be gone for quite some time!
