That's relieving to hear, that they'd be willing to accept someone with at least some of the minimal skills.A lot of coding jobs will have requirements they list, but they'll work with you if you come close to what they're looking for and you learn a lot more once you actually start working with them, so there's a level of expectancy that you will learn and grow as you progress with the job. If you're worried about building a resume that'll wow them, then start by building a portfolio on some of the freelance sites out there like UpWork or FlexJobs. You'll gain confidence in your abilities, get paid and build a portfolio you can use on your resume![]()
Yeah, you'll find a lot of employers willing to work with you if you show you're willing to put the effort in and get them where they want to be.That's relieving to hear, that they'd be willing to accept someone with at least some of the minimal skills.
Anything is a startI already have a portfolio site, but it isn't much.
Totally understandable, but it's great practice, wonderful experience and a potential income, so worth keeping in mind as much as possible. Could also contribute to open source projects or Google Summer of Code projects, as well, that'll give you a team to work with and you'll be credited for your work, so it's a resume builder.I've tried freelancing like Freelancer.com but I could never really grow accustomed to their setup and I'm always afraid I won't finish the project on time or meet the client's expectations.
I'm ok-ish, how are you doing?Agreed!
