It was just to get more meds and get my medication increased as it wasn't doing enough just one in the morning. Stupid diabetes!I hear you there![]()
Type 2?It was just to get more meds and get my medication increased as it wasn't doing enough just one in the morning. Stupid diabetes!
Yep had it since 2012. It's a pain in the ass.Type 2?
I completely understand. Insulin-dependent Type 1 here, since age 11. It's a real struggle at times!Yep had it since 2012. It's a pain in the ass.
Aww damn. I avoid insulin at all costs. I am on a new pill to New Zealand that is supposed to help but I had to get my dosage changed as I am so thirsty all the time and I've got a bad habit of drinking energy drinks and fizzy/soda/whatever it's called where you are from.I completely understand. Ah, yeah, those are so tasty, but so, so bad for you when you're diabetic. Even when I do drink something fizzy it's diet (which is just as bad because of the fake sugars), but it's a truly hard one to keep away from. Hopefully this new dose will work for you! I'm on an insulin pump, so have a machine hooked up to me 24/7 pumping insulin into my body, and just recently they started me back on metformin/glucophage to keep things even more in line. Have to see how it goes. Insulin resistance is building, though, so there are obvious concerns there.Aww damn. I avoid insulin at all costs. I've got a MASSIVE needle phobia so trying to avoid insulin I even have trouble checking my blood sugars.Ah, yeah, those are so tasty, but so, so bad for you when you're diabetic. I was the same until I was diagnosed, then in those days there was no needle-less option available, so...I just had to get used to them. I hate them, still, but I get my blood drawn so often, do my blood sugars frequently and have a pump and continuous glucose sensor in my arm, so...my fear of needles is now more a tolerance of them.I've got a MASSIVE needle phobia so trying to avoid insulin I even have trouble checking my blood sugars.
I did have my first two covid shots but that's because my country brought in vaccine passes and basically if you didn't have the first two you wouldn't be able to go anywhere.
I haven't had my boosters though. I've tried...
Are you funded for your glucose system? Here they have ones if I have $100 NZD per fortnight or whatever.I was the same until I was diagnosed, then in those days there was no needle-less option available, so...I just had to get used to them. My glucose monitor is covered partially by insurance, so I only had to pay a small amount of it and then have to buy test strips and lancets every month, which adds up fast! The one in my arm was covered nearly 100% by insurance and connects to the monitor, my pump and my phone to keep me as in-line as possible. Are you funded for your glucose system? The New Zealand public health system provides fully funded test strips. Not sure about lancets though as I don't test my sugars much.My glucose monitor is covered partially by insurance, so I only had to pay a small amount of it and then have to buy test strips and lancets every month, which adds up fast! Understandable, though remember it's super important for proper control! The New Zealand public health system provides fully funded test strips. Not sure about lancets though as I don't test my sugars much.
