Computers smarter than people?

Depends on the people. Probably yes

I don't think computers will ever be smarter than people. I just can't see it happening, but i think we can work on the same level.

I'd say that would depend on the subject, I can't imagine them ever understanding feelings or emotions, basically what makes us human. They'll probably become smarter in the hard sciences though.

Uh... Computers are smarter than people now.

Think about it. A computer can compute complicated equations in seconds, they are beginging to (but haven't perfected) the ability to translate languages. Our cells phone today have more computing capablility than what nasa had when landing the first man on the moon. We have robots that can walk, sense when they're off balance and correct themselves accordingly.

A human can program a computer to do addition. They can tell it, add this number to this number. So when the human tells the computer what is 1929384723984723984723984729384 + 2348237498q79874982749283742893. A human would take quite some time to solve such an equation and computer would only take seconds.

How many files do you have on your computer? Do you know what is in each one? When you started the file? The last time you visited the file? Do you know every key you hit on your computer and in what order since the day you first got it? Guess what, your computer does...

So yes, I firmly believe computers are smarter than people right now...

Actually I already know the answer (without using a computer): NaN (Not a Number), there's a q in there
