WASHINGTON (WNEW) — A hospital in D.C. says a person with possible Ebola symptoms has been admitted out of “an abundance of caution,” but the city’s health department says it has “no confirmed cases” at this time.

The patient, who traveled to the U.S. from Nigeria, has been admitted at Howard University Hospital in Washington.

“We can confirm that a patient has been admitted to Howard University Hospital in stable condition, following travel to Nigeria and presenting with symptoms that could be associated with Ebola,” university spokesperson Kerry-Ann Hamilton said in a statement Friday.

FWIW, I wouldn't read too much into this other than to say that, as long as they're doing the proper isolation and control procedures at the hospital and making sure to trace back any contacts the patient has had prior to admission, there shouldn't be too much of a concern...of course, it would also help if they could get a handle on the outbreak back in West Africa, but I digress.

So far, "proper procedure" involved sending the infected patient home with some pills.

Which patient: the one in D.C. or the one in Texas?
