Have ever been on the forum where the fellow members or staff demand to be respected?

They dont have to outright/bluntly say it, they can imply it too.

I permanently logged off of a forum where people were demanding respect and staff was trying to hide any sign of the fact members were unhappy about anything. People like that get on my nerves.

I agree to get respect you have to earn it. You respect me and I in turn respect you. It's a two way street

If people respect me, i will respect them, just because they are staff of an online forum doesn't mean they automatically gain respect and must have it.

I don't get why some people think a team icon, a colored name and mod powers has anything to do with getting respect. There are plenty of staff I dealt with who demanded respect, did nothing to deserve it and got none from me in return. Then they try the threats and intimidation route but doing such things on a forum only comes off as hilarious and makes the person doing it look sad and pathetic. lol

Ive been of forums where the admins get all authoritative and say things like YOU WILL RESPECT ME AND THE RULES OR GTFO

I dont see how admin'ing a forum could give someone a big head like that.

There are things that should be respected regardless of your opinion of them. Such as rules/laws, police officers (at least the badge and uniform), the oceans/seas as well as each other to some degree.

I dont respect police officers most around here are corrupt. I know that 1st hand.. However that has nothing to do with forums.
