Talking Points Memo: Poll: Democratic Challenger's Lead Over Kansas Gov. Brownback Narrows
Democratic State Rep. Paul Davis' lead over Republican Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback has decreased among likely voters, according to a Rasmussen poll released Monday.

In the Monday poll, 47 percent said they would vote for Davis and 43 percent said they would vote for Brownback. In an August Rasmussen poll, 51 percent of likely voters said they favored Davis and 41 percent said they favored Brownback.

Rasmussen conducted the poll before a report surfaced this weekend about a strip club incident involving Davis. In 1998, Davis was found by police in the back room of a strip club during a drug raid.

According to TPM's Polltracker average, Davis is leading Brownback by 6 points.

Brownback has faced significant opposition from Republicans during his re-election bid, as some state Republicans have endorsed Davis. Brownback has been criticized for tax reforms he initiated in Kansas.

Rasmussen surveyed 750 likely Kansas voters Sept. 16-17 with a margin of error plus or minus 4 percentage points.

This could be a big upset come Election Night given how dark-red Kansas is...thoughts?

Except, of course, various Congress Critters who have managed to 'redistrict' themselves into safe seats.

Tell me something I don't already know, my friend...
