One of my hobbies happens to be cooking (surprised my parents on that one). Since I moved out of home-base (lol) about 5 years ago, I've slowly taught myself how not to rely on Roman & Noodles. Here's a boneless/skinless chicken breast basted and cooked in a peppercorn, garlic, olive oil, water, salt, pepper, and a pinch of old bay marinade paired with baked butternut squash pulverized into a nice little side dish.

Finished Meal:

What I had to clean up afterwards:

The meal looks very good but was it worth all that mess?

I don't go out much, most of my friends either 1) have families or 2) elsewhere for college, leaving me with a lot of free time. If there wasn't a mess to clean up, I'd be plopped down on the couch with nothing to do for a longer period of time. Plus, it amuses me that the cat will jump up on the bar and watch me do dishes haha.

They say any meal that doesn't make a big mess to make, isn't a good meal.

The chicken did look very yummy! That's so cute that your cat likes to watch you do dishes. What's your cats name?

Angel (Not sure what I was thinking when I let my sister name her...) haha - but...she sure acts like a little spoiled angel/brat >< On the topic of animals though, the other cat that likes to claim a piece of furniture and doesn't let any human being near it would be Kina (she hasn't ever visited my apt). And I have a hedgehog Akito. lol

I dont think Akito would be too interested in watching me cook - tried it before, but after I turned my head for a second, he ended up hiding behind the fridge.

Would love to see some pictures of your pets! Never heard of having a hedgehog as a pet. Did you get it at a pet store?

Haha, when I lived in England, they were a nuisance (like squirrels in America) but when I came over here they were an, exotic pet. lmao. Well, my previous girlfriend and I wanted to get a pet for the apartment. As we were walking through the door, I told her if they have a hedgehog, I'm going to buy him/her...and sure enough, they had 1 left. So, 300 bucks later, I walked out of there with Akito lol. I'll start a new post in this area with some pictures of the little guy. Unfortunately, he's getting ready to go to his new family (the ex-gf already has too many) and he can't stay with me when I ship out.

Sad when you have to give up a pet. At least you found Akito another home. Where will Angel be going?

Thankfully Angel is my parent's cat - so she's already back with them

I don't think I could handle her living in my apartment all the time - just random visits here and there lol

Sorry I misunderstood about Angel and taking your thread way off topic!
