Absolutely! They get enough of it, anyway with all of the blood tests.yeah.... fuck em'
Besides that there's also medical reasons iirc.Yeah apparently they don't want people like me: https://www.redcrossblood.org/donate-blood/how-to-donate/eligibility-requirements/lgbtq-donors.html
No, but I'm not adverse to it. A while back, I was told I couldn't because of anemia.
I'm not anemic now, but my ferritin levels are low enough to call for iron infusions. I don't like taking the iron pills because they give me even worse constipation. No, I don't feel cold all the time, but a good chunk of the time.Anemia sucks. I know a few people who have it. Do you always have to iron pills? Feel cold all the time?

no, I have never donated blood and I prefer not to, unless it is of mega importance, something very serious. Then yes. But it would still have to be someone in the family or someone very close.
I have in the past and for the little inconvenience it has upon me, I get to see the benefits of whole blood products in the field due to working in healthcare.
Work in EMSAre you a doctor?
When I was hospitalized a few months ago, they did give me a couple iron infusions, so it was pretty bad hahaThats good, sounds like you don't have it as bad as the other anemic people I know.

it has a lot of pros and cons, but overall I'm glad I got into the field. Granted my last day (after 10+ years is Sunday).Ah, that is a tough job! Thank you for what you do.
Hopefully it's onto something else you enjoy, but 10+ years at a job you like is great!it has a lot of pros and cons, but overall I'm glad I got into the field. Granted my last day (after 10+ years is Sunday).

A different route. It just felt like the correct time for a change. Are you retiring from work in general or just moving on to another career path?

Uggh; I'm old enough to still remember when those were first established.Yeah apparently they don't want people like me: https://www.redcrossblood.org/donate-blood/how-to-donate/eligibility-requirements/lgbtq-donors.html
To very over-simplify the situation. All the local companies are being gathered up into massive corporate hospital systems and the whole "serve the community" is very much lost. So with the mission changed, I decided it was time to pursue a better-paying job. What made you want to leave being an EMS?
