It seems like most people now days prefer to go down the Discord route rather than having a forum. Though I am part of a few communities that have both a forum and a discord server. I don't have a discord server, I feel that forums are better for communication since real time chat just seems to get lost to time. (Especially if the server is very active.)

Yes, Site and also it has a Discord server for the community :) However, 50% of members on discord aren't even members on the forum since I use discord for many things rather than the site. I like to keep the forum more active rather than all members using Discord.

I've partnered with someone else's discord since I can't find time for both.

Honestly I don't know why people want a discord over a forum, you post one thing and if it gets so busy your post easily gets lost/ignored.

DIscord is a live chat option, but the year I have to scroll up to read that's if there isn't m uch chat

I don't have a Discord server set up except for the Staff. We have a Shoutbox on the front page of the site, and they can take away from forum activity as it is. In my experience people can become too lazy to visit the site if they just sit around on the Discord all day.

Other option that they have to earn and do things on the site to get things or giveaways on discord. VIP options on discord need to be earnt by posting content on the forums.

There are good and bad sides of things. There are good Discord servers that you can use for promoting other sites and whatever.

Yes, I added a Discord server at the request of a couple of members - though neither are particularly busy at the minute.

I've been (mis-)using Discord to discuss developments of, and ideas for, the Wiki I'm working on. That discussion should have been staff only, but I got lazy.. ? I'm just conscious that not everybody would be interested.

I'm sure you guys know that we obviously don't have a Discord server. It's been suggested to me a few times by some members but I've never wanted to add one as it would just take activity away from the forum, especially a general discussion forum.
