I don't because I don't expect to get it back. But it can be worked for or for charity.

Some pay back but I don't want to risk it and I don't like the idea of being owed stuff anyway.

None of my friends ever paid me back, so I quit loaning out money. I have (however) given money to people, not expecting a return of any kind.

As a rule, NO!
But with the exception....to some of our kids.
I say 'some' because, of course, some have shown to be more reliable/responsible than others.

If you got responsible people, you can get a profit doing this by charging a little more in the payback amount, lol.

Loans dealt out by mobsters are dealt with discipline. You don't want loans from those types.

However, though, do you feel mainstream loaners are being taken advantage of by liars?

I am completely moving away from lending money to people. It has damaged a lot of relationships that I had with some people that were so close. I rather give what I can give than loan out money.

I try to avoid loaning money to anyone. If I'm going to loan it out, I'm going to assume that I'm not getting it back.

I can guarantee most of the population loans out their money. If you put your paycheck into a bank account, you are loaning the bank everything you earn and they get to do with it whatever they want to, like gambling it in the stock market or other investments.

I have in the past loaned out money, some of which I got back, and some that I lost. I refuse to give my brother money at the moment as he really is not using it wisely and refusing to get a job, even with experience.

That's an interesting position coming from someone who asked for a loan.
