They're extremely expensive but I honestly need one
that's pretty cheap I am from Australia so I've converted it to our dollars here and that's $848.69AUD which is pretty cheap considering
Managed to pre-order one from Amazon at the retail price of the console. I was collecting a lot of Amazon giftcards in anticipation of it so it wasn't too expensive when I did buy it. Was pretty lucky to get a pre-order as well.
Ha! No luck, my friend got lucky on a twitter give away. But I don't mind, I want a PS5 pro or whatever next powered up version there will be.

Yeah, that's what I've heard as well. It's weird because I feel like there wasn't as big a stock problem when the pre-orders first started.That’s not to bad honestly, I have heard that they’ve been going out of stock very fast in some parts of America so they must be a good product to have

I know on launch day for any console, it was reckless to go and get one alone. But these days it seems the scalpers snap them all up and hope that any mail person doesn't snatch it in transit.
It’s a surprise and insane because let alone we’re in a pandemic and people are still managing in selling them out so fast.
My friend actually picked up his early in the morning which I thought was crazy. He used public transport as well so extremely brave lol

Not sure why people can't wait it out instead of stealing a machine that they didn't pay for.
So over two years later, it looks like PS5's are finally pretty accessible. Kinda crazy how long it took for this to happen, Sony kinda dropped the ball this time and the scalping situation was insane. Thankfully I never had to worry about it because I pre-ordered one on that first night they went up. I guess Walmart put them up early and then nobody else wanted to be left behind so everyone started putting the pre-orders up when nobody was expecting it. Amazon actually waited until midnight but immediately sold out before I could get one there too. I managed to get one in my cart at Best Buy but when you tried to complete the check out, the page would just reload. Either the site crashed or too many people had them in their carts. So I just didn't give up and literally just kept spamming the checkout button until 3am, it just randomly went through, I'm guessing they put more up for midnight on the west coast but since I was already in my cart, it went through and I got it. Then I spent the next year with some of my friends trying to convince me to sell it. 
I was interested at getting one when they came out but when I saw the price I said ''No way'' and as of today there are still almost impossible to get here, probably the same thing everywhere else, I have a friend that paid over 1000$ to get one, no way I'm paying that money for a PS5. I invested a 1000$+ on a PC instead, I think it was better for me to do that.
Nice! Hoping to get a good deal on one this next black friday and give my partner one as a Christmas present.
