A $210 fine for failing to return seven library books (I eventually returned six of the seven books, but after my last visit to the local library, I told them they could keep the fine).

The last time visited a public library was in 2015. sadly, after a major earthquake, the library building had collapsed and the staff were searching for books in the rubble. I could not find what I was looking for. However, as a student, I visited the library regularly, sometimes even twice a week.
Yes, I just moved to a new city a couple of months ago and recently signed up for the library here. It's actually a neat place with some super cozy low traffic spots. I've checked out a handful of books but never finished them because I lost interest. I'll read up on book suggestions, people will rave about them, and then I just can barely follow along?? I'm not sure why other than I'm stuck in a bad book rut... I do have an e-reader which is what I was reading books on instead of going to the library in the past but I mostly prefer physical copies, so I try and go at least once month and hope I find something good soon!
