Do you use recipes to cook?

If so, where do you get the best recipes?

Do you get them from friends, family, online, or from cookbooks?

Sometimes.
Most of the time for simple, everyday things from memory or guess-&-check.
For things I don't know how to, I look online....before that was so available from shared recipes from friends, family; & or cookbooks.

I do if I am making something specific. If I am just whipping up some dinner like meat and veggies then I can season and add stuff without needing to follow a recipe.
