For those of you who this applies to:

What made you decide that you don't want kids?

I've never been the kind of person who ever wanted to have span of my own, and family I can't imagine myself ever having any. That's not to say I won't ever change my mind but it's something that doesn't appeal to me. It's a lot more complicated than that, but it's the jist.

It's not that I don't like kids. I really love kids. I just don't want too have any of my own.
My sister want's kids so I will be an Aunt. And that is enough for me.
I don't want too be tied down even though I know that sounds bad.

Maybe you might consider adopting. It's an alternative to test your raising abilities or for those who are afraid of being pregnant.

1.) I am a very lazy and irresponsible guy.
2.) I can't stand the sound of a crying baby.

Simple. I don't want the responsibility that comes in the same package along with the baby.

Plus, I've seen what kids are like, and I would rather be run over by a steamroller than to have one like that.

The moment I swore off kids I ended up having them lmao. I have a 12 year old girl and a 10 year old boy. They're great.

My kid is an adult now! :faint: time flies

This still applies. I haven't changed my mind.

I can only add more reasons against having kids, like the fact they're a heavy financial burden, and there's no guarantee they'll amount to anything in life. Also, with the way the whole world is spiraling down to its doom, it would be selfish and cruel to bring another life to it, a life that never asked to be created & born, but has the curse of life forcibly thrusted upon it.

That is exactly how I see it...

Indeed. That's exactly how it is, the brutal reality of the human existence. Humans seem to have an uncanny ability to delude themselves into believing there's more to life than eat, sleep & die. Everything we do between birth and death serves just to pass the time, and every generation keeps making the same mistakes as all previous generations did plus some new ones, all while retaining the belief we are here on this planet for some grand purpose orchestrated by some magical supreme being that, conveniently, refuses to show itself and prove its existence.

But they enrich your life. :grouphug:

And drain your bank account. Children don't pay the bills and don't put the food on the table. Money does both.

My main argument against having children is the impossibility of a consent. No one can ask their child to be whether (s)he wants to be conceived and brought into this pitiful excuse for a world we are forced to live at, where (s)he will, unless born into a super rich family, endure hardships on a daily basis, which will only get worse with age.

What about those poor souls who are born with physical deformities and / or mental disabilities? They've been assigned a crippling handicap from the very start of the life game. Have you seen what other children do to them, how cruel and brutal they are towards them for no other reason other than the fact they are "different"?

And don't get me started on those "oh god, what was I thinking when I decided to have a child" parents who realize at some point in their lives they've made a mistake and wish they could go back to being single and childless again, but alas, they can't, so they end up hating and resenting their children for "ruining their lives".

In my opinion, it's just not worth it. I know about all the economy stuff, how human society needs young work force to replace the ageing one going into retirement and all that, but I really don't care. It's not my problem. I never asked to be brought into this world and live by its rules, but here I am anyway, just because my mother and father are / were both dumb idiots who decided to have a child because "everyone else does it".

I'm really at a loss of whether I want children or not. I feel more like I do not due to it being such a big responsibility and the fact that I'd probably have a lot of anxiety over my child's well-being. I surely wouldn't want to ruin the child's life by helping bring them into the world. Life can be full of the joy of course, but there are times when it is full of misery. I don't want my child to be miserable by any means. Besides, I really don't know if I have the mental capacity to be a father.

Kids aren't that expensive. I raised one and I still manage to have an un-drained bank account.

It comes naturally. Those dad instincts you never knew you had will kick in once you have one.

You know what they say, everyone is just getting by in life without them always knowing what's going on or what they're doing.
