Yes, yes it is. I'm excited about this one though. They seem to be doing an excellent job from the small glimpses available of staying true to the book.

No, no, don't read the graphic novel. You need to read the original 1960's version by Frank Herbert. It's a pioneer science fiction novel that inspired a lot of modern day science fiction like Star Wars.
Not rewrites as much as reprints, like they do for a lot of movies based on classics.
Let me know what you think if you do read it!
I'm pretty excited, it seems like most of the cast have read the book and are familiar with most of the original story and characters. It'll just come down to how it translates to screen.
I'm not really into reading fiction. I prefer True Crime and Astrophysics.
I love the original. Very well done IMO. I'm not interested in remakes.
You shouldn't be so stiff on those things. Sometimes you don't have to give up your appreciation for the original in order to appreciate the grandeur or beauty of a remake or different telling. It's very akin to what happens with Stephen King's book to movie transitions.
