Ethical to Use Animals in Sports?

What are your thoughts on using animals in sports?

Horse and dog racing, bull-fighting, dog-fighting, some rodeo sports are all un-ethical, IMO.

On the other hand, the animals used for donkey basketball are usually well-groomed, well fed and receive good vet care. They don't seem to be any 'worse the wear' for participating in the "sport".

I always feel bad when animals are used in any form of human entertainment. Even if the animals are well cared for and don't seem bothered by what they're doing.

I think that donkey basketball is a game where the animals can get the best of the people, even the grown-ups.

...and, I've never known of any animals being hurt, abused or having to be euthanized 'on the track' or drugged for the sake of winning. I can imagine that it's entertaining and stimulating for the donkeys as well.
