Ever burnt your rice?

I had a bad experience with burning my rice yesterday night. I was boiling rice and slept off while at it. I was lucky to wake up with a call from my neighbor about the smell that is coming out of my flat.

I ended up eating just some parts of it though as I couldn't throw all away. Ever had this kind of experience?

I have burned my rice, yes, but now I have a rice cooker and it cooks it pretty much to perfection for me.

Oh yes! Besides tasting bad it's a horrible mess to get the pan clean. Automatic rice cookers are "the bomb"! With just two to cook for, the smaller size is perfect.

Yes.. concon (or as others call it pegao) is awesome. I had some last night for dinner.

You would need to do this with a pot not a rice cooker..

Yes but I usually cook my rice in broth or a stock instead of water alone.. I do like a 50/50 mixture.. this way I get the flavor but not as much of the salt.. it even works well with the rice cooker..
