Mine hasn't been very positive. Why? Because one person on a hotline has asked me if I have taken any alcohol or drugs once, and it's not because you are depressed that you are on drugs or alcohol. As for ER, they've just put me to sleep for a few days have released me back home, which doesn't solve the root cause of the issue for me personally at least anyways. What about you? What are your experiences with ER/hotlines?
I remember one experience of a hotline where they were asking me so em, what reasons have you got to live?
and I was saying well.. I love music, I love cartoons, reading romance novels, and they said to me well then, why don't you go and watch mickey mous and we'll ring to check on you in an hour
hour passes
they didn't call back
another (diffrent hotline), the woman was eating a ham sandwich on the phone rather than listening to what I have to say
as for ER, well: pretty much ditto
their was one time I was being sick in my room- the nurse litierally said to me are you going to hurry up and stop being sick, I have people to see. it isn't just you here, you know, and between vomiting I'm like I'll stop when I'm done, not when you want me too
another time I had just finished speaking to someone in another room. when they took me back to the ward, I asked the nurse, is food here yet?
she looked at me and went well, if you were here 5 minutes ago, you could have something- but now you're just going to have to starve and I'm like yeah, okay, not my fault I was in a meeting...
I never called an hotline myself. I know where I get conseling they always ask if I'm sucidal, but they told me their required to. *shrugs* Doesn't phase me really.
As for ER visits, I haven't really had anything bad other then being there for several hours usually.
