have you come across people that simply wont listen to people, regardless if they're right or wrong, just because they dislike the person?

lets give an example:

one person says something, then later on and different person says the same thing, people would only accept it from the second person or give praise to the second person as the first person is not liked very much, yet said the facts/truth first with no recognition...

have you come across people that over looks people's posts simply because they dislike that person and at the same time glorify the people they like even though the person they disliked already said the same thing?

or, some people simply wont accept anything that a person says if they dislike the person and simply dismiss whatever they say just because they dislike them, regardless if they're right/correct in their posts...

I guess that is human nature in many ways. Information is accepted or rejected based on the perception of credibility.
You would accept information easier from someone you respected more sooner that you would from someone you didn't.

If a liar tells me something, why should I believe it? I'd rather hear it from a credible source as opposed to a person who has proven themselves to be untrustworthy.

the truth is the truth no matter who says it, regardless if a person is a liar or not, or untrustworthy or not... also, just because you think or believe someone is a liar and/or untrustworthy doesn't mean everyone thinks or believes the same... people still dismiss and/or ignore proof of people lying even on video and simply wont accept it...

Truth is relative when it comes to opinion.
People often accept truth when it conforms to their preconceived perception or idea of something.
It is easy to believe a truth when it supports you accepted beliefs. When in contradicts your beliefs it is easy to call the truth a lie.

If the person has proven themselves to be duplicitous, I'll have a hard time believing them. Whether they're lying at this particular time doesn't matter. What matters is that they have previous, and as such they are not trustworthy. If they provide source material or proof of something, then fine. If they just come out with some statement and claim "well it's true" I'm going to be suspicious.

so, with that logic, someone you trust can just come up to you and tell you that the world is flat and you'll believe them, even though it's false? :S

Which is a totally logical way to think. :highfive:

Facts are facts, however truth is subjective and very much based on perspective.
Even Pontius Pilate asked Jesus 'and what is truth'

facts can be based on perspective as well...

can't have the truth with out facts...

although sometimes there's no facts to back up a truth, but even so if it's still true, facts don't matter...

*catches part of conversation and looks over towards Justice* Hey, isn't that how Liberty thinks most of the time?:whistle::whistle::whistle:

That was my thought about you with a insult thrown in for good measure.

Facts do matter but I tend to look for the truth amongst those people and things who illustrated themselves to be honest with perhaps the greatest source of truth being the Bible which can be used by a believer to discern truth from fiction. Why exactly would I go looking to those things or people who illustrated themselves to be dishonest for truth and expect to find any? Perhaps the problem you think people here don't care for a certain person's beliefs is because that person's beliefs are simply flat out wrong? Perhaps that is the problem and not the people who refuse to listen to that person?

of course not, that would be blind faith. You balance what people tell you with what you already know to be true.
