Favorite Donut?

I know it's rather random. But hey, we could use something to talk about. My favorite is plain glazed, something about tasty simpleness...

I don't 'get' the doughnut thing. Why are they such a big thing in the States? Surely a doughnut is a doughnut? Do they have a million different flavours or something?

Dunkin' Donuts has more than 1,000 donut varieties.
