What forum software do you like the best and why?

Xenforo for paid software, obviously. Off Topix is using it!

As for free software, I like MyBB the most.

I believe you can use a free demo of XenForo on their website if you want to check out the admin panel and whatnot.

That is correct. That's how I wrote a ton of my tutorials when I used to do that type of stuff.

Proboards is cool if you were around the internet when the internet first started and hold nostalgia for that time period. Definitely a retro vibe.

For my first forum I used smfforfree , I've also used Invision Free and Forumotion.

Yes, SMF is still around. Have not used it in a long time.

XF and IPB are the paid ones I like. I don't really use the free ones anymore. But I guess I will say PHPBB and MyBB.

IPB is decent, not as good as XF but its decent.

I just started to use IPB again. They have put alot of features into it. It was the only forum software that I could use to import a Vanilla Forum to also without going through a ton of stuff to do it. IPB price is a little high too.

Paid 75.00 to renew. I have pages and blog with the forums.

EDIT: To get everything new, it is 850.00.

It isn't great. But I check with someone to import the Vanilla Forum so I could use XF, and it was 300.00. I looked and looked for a free way, and didn't come up with anything. IPB worked pretty good. What hurts, I forgot that I put a bid on this forum and I won it. lol
