I mean gender isn’t the same as biological sex so… there are more than two options! :p Anyways I’m a trans man and damn proud of it!
That's what I keep trying to tell Serafin over in the News & Politics sections at times - that while (and feel free, Raven, to correct me if I get this wrong) biological sex is pretty well fixed as either XX (female) or XY (male), gender identity has long been a societal and cultural construct that has changed over the years to reflect the prevailing society/culture.

Biological sex isn't actually binary either, XX and XY are the most common though people can have other combinations of the two sex chromosomes, or in the case of biological females having just one X chromosome, are diagnosed with Turner Syndrome. Humans are very complex, yet most of us taught that there are only two sexes and even two genders when gender isn't the same as sex, and biological sex can vary.

Interesting, but what percentage of people have something different that the typical XX and XY?

In a sense, that's what I was trying to tell @WHO IS SERAFIN: that while biological sex (the genetic part of what makes us male or female) is largely fixed as either XX or XY, gender (a/k/a our outward presentation of who we present as) is and has never been fixed but is a societal and cultural construct.

Sex + Gender = Not the same thing :highfive:

Yes it’s binary just like genders. What you are describing is a genetic screwup where something went wrong. nature messed up just like having deformed limbs, small people, retarded individuals with physical and mental impairments just like it happens with every living thing on the planet at times.

Even sex itself is influenced so strongly through societal and cultural constructs. The way we think about and interpret our bodies and ourselves is determined in large part by sociocultural factors. More than that, these factors even influence our development itself as embodiment happens through enculturation.

Female.
