Only for my (future) wife and kids.

So you'd die for people dont exist but you wouldn't do it for your dad or brothers or other close people in your family?

I'd give my life for my daughter, her mom, and anyone close in my family.

Correct. Sounds mean, but I'm sure they are more than capable of looking after themselves.

Thats not the question.. If you were put in a situation where you had to give your life to save another you'd watch them die and resume your life with no regrets?

yes it is. Obviously it implies a life and death situation. If you could let the closest people to you right now die right in front of you when you had an opportunity to save them by giving yours, then that's your choice I suppose. Personally, I don't know if I could live with myself afterwords though.

I love hypothetical situations.

The question asked was
Would you give your life to save another?
. Nothing more. Nothing less. How each person interprets and answers that question is up to them.

Since the question says would you give your life to save another, then I picked depends on the person (i.e. family and freinds)

If the question was phrased would you risk your life to save another then I would have picked yes.

Would I give my life to save another person? Absolutely, with only a few restrictions. Obviously, I'm not going to go out looking for ways to prove this, and I'm not going to give my life for someone who appears to not be using his life in a manner that is at least somewhat decent. I would also only give my life if I was relatively sure that it would actually matter. I'm not looking to go down in a random double homicide, if you catch my drift. Would I risk my life to save anyone? Well, I suppose that really deserves the same answer, sinc it is realy the same question 9/10 times (risk means a good probability of something happening, right?).

Depends on the quality of life the person has that I would give my life to save theirs. For example: I would have given my life to save my dad's life. However, he had terminal cancer, and had no quality of life left. In the end the cancer won and if I had given my life to save his then it would have been in vain. So my answer was Yes but it depends on the person.
