Have you ever dealt with a narcissist in your life? If yes, how did you deal with them?

I had some teachers who were so narcissistic and blamed stuff on me.

I don't think i've ever dealt with a narcissist but then I've got 40 years of memory to go through. Unless you spend a lot of time with that person you can't diagnose them. I have dealt with people at work who can't accept blame when they do something wrong but they weren't narcissists.

My ex wife and her sister were both narcissists. Everything they did was always blamed on me or everyone else. They took no responsibility for their actions. I was gas lit so bad that I started seeing a therapist. It's really bad when a divorce feels like the best decision you ever made in your life.

Yeah, no one should have to live with that, ever. They don't see the damage their irresponsible actions cause and they don't even see that they've ever done anything wrong. It's a scary, scary mindset.

Not with the present circumstances, no.

So long as I'm my mother's full-time caregiver that won't happen, but I appreciate the sentiment

I have dealt with a narcissist, yes. I dealt with one for around 11 years whom I had kids with and was in a mentally abusive relationship with. I eventually told people what was happening and got help to get out of the relationship and I have been free from that relationship now for nearly 9 years, which will be 9 years in February 2024.

Yes. I cut contact with them.
