I used to think it was so odd that there was a scorpion in their yard in "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids". That just is not a thing in my area.

So have you?

No. But I have seen them in my grandpa's old indoor pool that he never used because it had rusty pipes and wouldn't hold water.

Yes. I enjoy killing them. I once was stung by one of them that found its way into my shirt

Never, thank goodness! But I have seen one occasionally scoot across the floor in South Texas.
Always had a paranoia that I would jump into my shoes early in the morning & 'bump' into a scorpion.

There is only one type of scorpion that is native to this state, and that is only in the extreme southern part.

I've seen warnings about them at a couple of the campgrounds down there, but never encountered one.

Consistently, yes. They get into the house, too. Bark Scorpions. Ugh.

I never seen a scorpion in my life, guess I'm lucky. We only have one species here, the bark scorpion but they're more common down in southern Missouri than where I live.

Bark is far and away the most prominent here, but we have up 60 different varieties...yay

They're out inside houses during the day, but yes, mostly nocturnal. Terrifying to see them scurrying across the floor

I am sure they are in California (probably in places like Death Valley), I just never seen any where I am (bay area).
