High School Reunions

Have you or will you go to a high school reunion?

Didn't go to my 10th anniversary or my 20th anniversary but I sure as hell did to my 30th.
Shocked a lot of people; they all thought I was dead and gone. As Elton John was say,

No, I had a hard time in high school with bullying, I wouldn't go back there if you paid me.

I'll go with you!

I mean you met me, right?! Makes it all worthwhile

lol, I didn't pick where I was born, but I'm proud of being from Bolton. We're a town of working class nobodies and we're proud of that

My 40th High School reunion was this past Saturday, and I have to say that I'm completely happy I made the effort to go to it! One of my BFFs went, and another one chose to not go, but I'll see her in a few weeks anyway. I didn't know who else I really wanted to see from the list of attendees, but wow, once I ran into people, it was nice to chat and hug and laugh...and dance. I danced so much! A few ladies were saying how they were always the ones on the dance floor, and I said, "I never was!!" So they congratulated me and were glad I decided to join them.

I never really felt like I fit in with too many people in high school, but this was an amazing time and I actually felt like I was liked and that people wanted to be around me. It's a good feeling.

I went to a high school reunion around 2007/2008. A friend of ours held it at her house, and it was great fun getting together again.

I am also in the same boat. I was also bullied severely during my school days and I do not want to see those people ever again in my life. Sometimes you just wish things end quicker. I really wished I could just get rid of school. I suffered from bullying for almost two years in my secondary school.

Oh that's so cool that you're excited about your 40th! Having your BFF there definitely makes it way better - like having a guaranteed good time no matter what awkwardness happens with everyone else.

I went to my 10-year a few years back and it was... weird but interesting? Like half the people looked exactly the same and half were completely unrecognizable. Lots of "oh wow, you're a insert surprising career here now??" conversations. The cliques were still kinda there but everyone was more chill about it. I spent most of the time catching up with a few people I actually missed and avoiding the ones who peaked in high school lol. Honestly might skip the next ones unless something major changes - Facebook already tells me everything I need to know about most of these people. But 40 years is different, that's like a real life milestone! You'll probably have some amazing stories to share and hear.
