Do you finish your holiday shopping early, or wait until the last minute?

Pretty much finished. But I have to still buy a birthday present for a family member who was born on Christmas Day. I always think that's a bit of a raw deal.

For you, or the recipient? I'm glad I haven't had to deal with that dilemma!

...my sparse 'shopping' (does clicking a mouse and typing a few things really count much for shopping) has been completed.

Of course it does.

You can buy half the world online!

Ive bought things from amazon.com. They just drop the stuff on my door and leave it there all day while I am gone at work or out of the house. Anyone can come up and swipe the stuff.

I do my holiday shopping months in advance. I also shop right after Christmas (for next year) when items can be marked down as much as 50% off.

I've had that happen a few times before, but usually there is a little comments box, or you can email their customer service (or the shipping service) and tell them any special shipping instructions (like back door, or don't deliver without signature, etc.). Since I've figured that out, I've made sure they don't deliver stuff right at the front doorstep where people could take it - though luckily the front steps have a small 'wall' around them at the landing, so it can conceal a small package.

Whenever I order something to be delivered I always request signature. As Durandal has stated, there is usually a special instruction box when you place your order. If there isn't then I do not order from that company.
