Wal-mart has a decent meat section. At least the locations out here in California do.not 'mystery meat from Walmart)
Instant pot is great, but probaby not for steakHey! The Instant Pot is wonderful for making impossible things, like stew meat, wonderful!![]()
Well, that answers' Jim Cornette's famous thought,(not 'mystery meat from Walmart)
Where does it fall compared to a crock pot?Wal-mart has a decent meat section. At least the locations out here in California do.

Just clicked on their produce. Insane prices there.Azurestandard.com
Where does it fall compared to a crock pot?
I ask because I know that instant pot is not the same as a crock pot, but I feel like it would be redundant to have one, since I already have 2 crock pots of different sizes and I am not tryna have my kitchen look like something you'd see on The Jetsons.. or my Mom's house.. lol
It is bad enough that I have an air fryer, that has over a dozen functions, one of which is a toaster oven, so I basically retired my toaster oven about a year after I bought it.
We dont pay them prices, But in general if you care about what you put in your body their will normally be a bit of a price jump. Esp having Organic veggies it takes not using pestisides, and besides having the soil and everything setup for organic it cost more to run on the business side. without alll them chemicals and MSG etc bull crap they put in food... Thats not food to me. If i wanted to eat chemicals i would go drink it right out of the bottle screw the food. Plus either you pay more for natural / Organic food or you spend it for medical expenses. So either way.. I pick eating better food. Take Mcdonalds for example most of them dont use 100% beef or Longhorn cows alot of places use fillers and other bullshit.Just clicked on their produce. Insane prices there.
I put off that "fad" for a long time too.Where does it fall compared to a crock pot?

LOL I remember the Y2K thing and the 1999 scare before it and all the other Doomsday predictions.. quite frankly I am more concerned about those who were disappointed that those didn't come true and wanted it to be, than I am of the predictions coming true itself.. LOLI put off that "fad" for a long time too.
But one day when I was washing my huge, heavy crock bowl .... the light dawned - stainless steel. Okay, I like stainless steel. Anyhow, I suckered in and have never looked back.
There's no comparison in the ease of clean-up to handling the stainless IP liner to a heavy, awkward crockpot liner. In cooking beans (without soaking!) and soups the cooking time is totally short compared to the prep-time of chopping vegetables, meat, whatever. There's a world of good IP recipes/and conversion recipes on YouTube.
IP Cooking-Time-Table
If you want to sauté meat or onions, you just do that all in the same pot....no extra pot washing.
I'm a FAN........can you tell?
I've been using mine since 2019 & just last week read an article about IP going bankrupt and why; so, I ordered another one from Amazon while the original is still available as a backup for when this one breaks down. (since I am still suffering from Y2K syndrome)
Ah ok.. so if i bought one, I would most definitely end up in the same situation with my toaster oven and air fryer.. the latter has a shit ton of functions and can even be used as a rotisserie..
A feature I have yet to try..

Honestly not a big fan of steak,
I had a toaster oven but when I got an air fryer I got rid of my toaster oven because the air fryer had a toaster oven setting. I had a crock pot but when I got the instant pot I got rid of the crock pot because the instant pot had a slow cooker setting. I don't like clutter so I didn't want to have multiple small appliances that do the same thing. My air fryer and instant pot were upgrades because they do the same things as my old stuff but also have more functions / features.
but there's ton of videos for how to properly clean fruit and vegetables of bugs and pesticides so I dont feel as though I am missing out by buying regular produce..
I havent gotten rid of my toaster oven, but I will put it downstairs in the utility/laundry room when we finish it.. it will be a multi-purpose room once we add a bathroom to our downstairs living room/guest suite. That will be where we will put our current fridge when we get a new one.
My great uncle who was a WW2 vet ended up owning more than 2 dozen brownstones in Downtown Brooklyn before he died in 2006 and he has spent many years in court dealing with asshole tenants and squatters and my Mom ended up dealing with the same kind of people when she worked in real estate as a property manager..Me either. Also there is so many things out to get us, you could try to avoid pesticides and whatnot ...but the pollution in the air is still killing you.... Or the purified water you drink might still have something in it we can't detect yet. Etc, etc. There are thousands of things that are trying to kills us from all directions. Lol

Nice, you could even rent that space out or turn it into an AirBnB if you want some extra income.![]()

I say this to say that after seeing what they had to deal with first hand, was a major reason why I decided that I did NOT want to be a land lord.. LOL
Also, even if I wanted to be one, the climate isn't exactly friendly to them, and I completely understand that too..
But a lot of people go that route to help pay off their mortgages and that is another reason why when our lender talked often excitedly of how we qualified for the max amount for our loan, we set our sights on not going above one third of that number.. we decided this before we started seriously looking for a house and we stayed true that. We didn't want to be in a position to have to rely on another income for our mortgage..
Yup. Something like that happened to my brother with his first realtor.. except she tried to be his accountant by insisting and insinuating that he couldn't afford the neighborhood he was looking into and tried to steer him and my sister in law back to the kind of neighborhood he was trying to leave. She seemed to be confused on the fact that she was supposed to be his realtor, and not his accountant and didn't seem to want to acknowledge or listen to that fact. Racism (or in this case, redlining) in real estate is a real thing.
His second realtor, however, was the charm, and is a good friend of his now, and he's our realtor now too..
