If you are american..

How was your fourth?

Mine was awesome. Spent the day out in the city watching free concerts and playing on the beach.. Then watched two simultaneous professional fireworks show when it got dark.

Will post up some pictures soon. I already have two up in my siggy and avy. The avatar is a pic of the Rolling Stones performing on stage. The signature was a me writing Nebulous in the sand then snapping a pic.

Glad you had such an awesome time Nebulous. Love the pics and can't wait to see more. My day was pretty quiet until I had to go to work. The 4th of July is one of the worst holidays for the hospital. Repsonded all shift to accidents involving drunk drivers and two calls where teens blew their fingers off playing around with firecrackers.

The only good part of the evening was when it was slow, we got to see part of the firework display over the lake.

That sucks that you had to work but its good that you seen some good fireworks.

When we were playing on the beach, there was this family from the England on vacation sitting near us. My daughter was playing with the English boy and girl. She kept saying Why do you talk like that? I told her not to be rude. They are from a different part of the world and not everyone talks the same.

lol

We also saw a ton of street performers.

The metal / robot men are always entertaining.

There was a guy playing the drums on some buckets..

One guy had a whole band on his body. He had drums on his back.. The drum sticks were operated by strings that were tied to his shoes. He had a harmonica on rigged up next to his face and he was holding a guitar.

The break dancers were pretty good too.

The bush man scared the crap out of us. We've been there a million times but he still scares us.

Its some guy who has a bunch of leafy branches tied to a couple boards. He crouches down and hides behind them. If you aren't paying attention it just looks like a bush. When you get close he pops out and scares you.

We saw a clown making balloon animals. He made my daugther a flower.

Besides the clown, the only one I actually tipped was the guy playing the violin. We sat and ate lunch listening to him play. His music was very beautiful.

My 4th was not as fast paced as the 3 days before it. Biggest carry out I had to do was when this one old skinny lady *One I've helped out many times before* wound up with 3 carts full of stuff.

I did nothing special on the 4th... as a matter of fact I'd forgotten it was independence day

We obviously don't celebrate it here, but I was at a festival and all the American artists were in an extra good (drunk) mood which made it extra entertaining.

A few of the good ones I saw:

Pearl Jam

Alice In Chains

Them Crooked Vultures
