I took half an edible and passed out at 8 PM. Can't recall hearing any fireworks, lol.I usually take the day after off as a vacation day, its hard to sleep with all the fireworks going off until well past 11pm.

The fireworks hurt ppl? How so?@Nebulous Yeah, you can say that. I stepped away from the holiday years ago because of the fireworks hurt people too much.

Seems to get worse as our BC ages; she even has anxiety attacks when it thunders. The vet gave us some pills last year (& we still have some leftovers) that calm her down reasonably well -- Acepromazine. They sure do!! Every single year she struggles with it.
Oh that's awful, I'm sorry she struggles so much! I imagine Skye will reach that stage, too, sadly.Seems to get worse as our BC ages; she even has anxiety attacks when it thunders. Not all dogs are so affected like this with 'BOOMS' of course. I don't know how many dogs we've had now & this is the first one that goes nutz like this. Her spells do last for hours; but at least soon after the "action" is over she calms right down & acts "normal" again.Oh that's awful, I'm sorry she struggles so much! That's good! I've had border collies my whole life and she's my first to get this nervous. It worries me, but she does indeed go right back to being herself when it's overNot all dogs are so affected like this with 'BOOMS' of course. My cat is so old she's deaf now, so she doesn't react, but she did hide when she was younger
Excellent question!
I didn't know dogs' hearing is as sensitive as their sense of smell! Wow.Excellent question!
Not @Nebulous or @PGen98, but:
The nite of July 4th I was watching my two cats calmly bathe themselves and watch my dog shake herself to pieces and wondered about the same question.
I have never, personally, had a cat that showed any reaction to fireworks or thunder.
And you'd THINK that cats' hearing would be just as sensitive or acute as dogs'.
???
I've never had ANY pets, let alone a pet cat. Why are you so surprised? You never had a pet cat before?
Yeah, you tell him!!I've never had ANY pets, let alone a pet cat. Why are you so surprised?
Not everyone has a pet you know? lol

You used the word never. Whenever someone uses a negative in a question, that tells me they expect the answer to be a yes.![]()
