Intelligence Matters?

Definitely. I simply cannot find myself attracted to somebody I can't have decent, meaningful conversations with. Nor do I find myself attracted to somebody whose beliefs are wildly foolish. Luckily I haven't encountered many people with the traits that REALLY piss me off.
When people first see me they tend to think I'm another Jethro Bodine.

Never really thought about considering intelligence attractive in a guy. I more look for kindness and a sense of humor. We all have different intelligence levels and knowledge so we can learn from each other. I truly cannot answer this question as I would need to first know how to put a number rating on intelligence. How do the rest of you determine just how intelligent a guy/girl is?

Intelligence isn't the same thing as being well educated (in the sense of having learned a lot). You don't need to know lots of facts and theories and whatnot to be intelligent, because as you said, you can still learn them. Intelligence is defined by understanding, ability to learn, reasoning, problem solving, communication, etc and you certainly already need a certain level of intelligence in order to be funny.
For me, I like girls who are at the same intelligence level as me. I had a girlfriend once who could read 700 page books in a couple of hours and skipped 2 years. The correcting got a bit too annoying eventually.
